On Set

A major feature film production needed two days of reshoots in Los Angeles, but the director was based in Europe.

Since the Covid-19 crisis would require the director to quarantine in Los Angeles for fourteen days, the producers estimated that bringing him to set would cost hundreds of thousands of dollars.

With Samara, the director was able to direct reshoots from his living room and see everything that was happening on set for a fraction of the cost.

As a senior studio executive said about Samara’s work on the production, “I have to admit the stakes were pretty high, but you guys totally ‘stuck the landing.’ I could not have asked for a better result.”

Post-Production

When Covid-19 forced everyone to stay home, director Travis Fine needed to find a way to move forward with visual effects and, color for his movie, Two Eyes.

Samara was the answer.

Color and VFX reviews continued on live from the DI session, sent via Samara directly to Travis’ iPad and laptop. The colorist had a new live wireless Samara monitor direct from the studio so that he could work from home, as well.

The show must go on. With Samara.
